Tips From The Show:

Gifting: Holiday birthdays (Christmas, Valentines Day, etc.) deserve gestures of appreciation. Don’t cheap out, accommodate for both events if you want the birthday-individual to feel special!

Planning: It’s easier to manage time if everyone is in the loop, which is why people send out “save the dates” and invitations. To make this process easier, I’ve listed 3 major considerations…

1 -  use Google & Apple Calendar. These tools are great for including multiple people in a calendar, which houses details such as time, location, etc.

2 - Create printable and digital graphics FOR FREE on Canva and Adobe. As long as you have access to WiFi and an email, you could create multiple planning souvenirs based off their many templates and themes.

3 - Once everyone has RSVP’ed or the planners have a general idea of who is going to be involved, create a Facebook Group, email newsletter and/or Google Docs page where people could both gather and share. This is useful before, during and after birthday celebrations because now, there’s one reliable space for updates, discussions, photos, contact info etc.

We discussed how birthdays have contributed to the spread of illness, with facts to back it up!

In June 2021, Harvard Medical School posted a study which proves there was a 30% increase in COVID-19     infections for households with a recent birthday or other popular informal gatherings. More specifically, households with child-birthdays are less likely to cancel & less likely to follow directions at the event.

If you made it this far, here’s some bonus content for you!

Sometimes, the hardest part about celebrating a birthday is finding out what to do… how do you celebrate?!

Here’s some popular, reliable methods:

  • Themed brunch or dinner

  • Picnic (that is decorated)

  • Backyard day: BBQ, pool, movie w. projector

  • Paint & Sip

  • Destination celebration - check travel advisory

  • Sports game or concert  (get shoutout for extra points)

  • Outdoor Activities (fruit picking, bar hopping, scavenger hunt, skiing, picnicking, riding bikes/motorcycles/jet skis, snow tubing, hiking)

I have to note one tip I’d add above all...

  • Whatever you choose, make it personally unique & special!

For example, if you went hiking, try to have something to look forward to on the other side.
